Our Precious Partners & DonorsDelhi Urban shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB)
AAA is working in collaboration with Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB). This is a governmental department which is responsible for creating and managing shelters across Delhi, to provide a safe place throughout the day and night for homeless people including women and children to sleep. AAA has been working with Delhi Govt., MCD, slum & J.J wing and now DUSIB for 14 years. DUSIB finances the shelters and the employees needed in these shelters.
Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences (IHBAS)
AAA also works in collaboration with the Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences (IHBAS), a Government hospital specializing in drug de-addiction and mental illness. During the Mobile Health Outreach Service -held twice a week- the psychiatrists and specialized medicines are provided by IHBAS. The medical staff is assisted by trained homeless community workers and volunteers. This relationship is 13 years old relationship. Besides this, because of mutual good experiences during the years, AAA and the hospitals mostly have a good understanding. If homeless people need to get treated in hospital, AAA covers these costs.
Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA)
Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA) is a statutory Authority constituted under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 enacted to effectuate the constitutional mandate enshrined under Articles 14 and 39-A of the Constitution of India. The object is to provide 'access to justice for all' so that justice is not denied to citizens by reason of economic or other disabilities. Since 2008, DSLSA facilitates the medical treatment of severely mentally ill homeless persons as required under Mental Health Act, 1987. Through this service time taken otherwise for grant of permission for medical treatment of the mentally ill homeless person gets drastically shortened and less cumbersome.
The Delhi Police plays important role. During the years, AAA and police have built up a good understanding. The Delhi Police protects the team which goes for Night Out, and also asks frequently for AAA’s help in case a homeless person appears to need help. AAA is able to provide the Delhi Police a good insight of the current homeless situation and is able to sensitize them towards plight of homeless of course with the fact that the privacy rights of homeless people stay inviolate.
